Flexible Bronchoscopy Combined With an Airway Maneuver for Foreign Material Removal Under Invasive Mechanical Ventilation

چکیده
We present a case of patient who had aspirated massive amount food, leading to cardiac arrest, and be intubated because severe hypoxemia. The hypoxemia persisted, regardless the recruitment maneuvers, performance flexible bronchoscopy, suctioning through ventilating tube, we were unable reach left main bronchus (LMB), where greatest was concentrated. However, managed overcome this problem by using prototype handling technique catheterize LMB directly with usage bronchoscope. introduce for removal foreign material from LMB, which will probably really useful in emergency situations, its simplicity effectiveness.

Extraction of a Large Central Airway Foreign Body Using Flexible Bronchoscopy Combined with an Endobronchial Blocker
Adult foreign body (FB) aspiration is an uncommon but potentially fatal event. Options for extraction include flexible bronchoscopy (FLXB), rigid bronchoscopy (RB), and surgical extraction. We report the case of a large, smooth aspirated rock causing airway obstruction in an elderly male. RB is generally the preferred approach for extraction of a large complex FB; however, due to its size, the ...
متن کاملRigid bronchoscopy for foreign body removal: anaesthesia and ventilation.
Foreign body aspiration is a leading cause of death in children 1-3 years old, although mortality is low for children who reach the hospital. Presenting symptoms of an inhaled foreign body depends on time since aspiration. Immediately after inhalation the child starts to cough, wheeze, or have laboured breathing. If the early signs are missed, the child usually presents with fever and other sig...

To investigate the application of a cough-creating thrust for the removal of airway-obstructing foreign material, the thrust was applied to six adult male anesthetized volunteers at the waist, at the low chest level, and at the midchest level, with the subjects in both the horizontal-lateral and the sitting positions. Air volume, peak air flow rate, and airway measurements were made. Both the l...
متن کاملControlled vs Spontaneous Ventilation for Bronchoscopy in Children with Tracheobronchial Foreign Body
Introduction Tracheobronchial foreign body aspiration is a common life-threatening condition in children. There are controversies in the management of this condition, including the type of ventilation during bronchoscopy. This study aims to compare anesthesia with controlled ventilation versus spontaneous ventilation in rigid bronchoscopy in children with foreign body aspiration. Materials...
متن کاملFlexible bronchoscopy in children: an open airway.
About 35 yrs ago the airways of neonates, infants and children were predominantly the working space of ear, nose and throat physicians and a sporadic paediatrician. The main indications, at that time, for rigid bronchoscopy were: aspiration of a corpus alienum, congenital web of the larynx or trachea, exploration of abnormalities of the airways, etc. This technique was only available in a limit...
